A man has died after being struck by a car in Grangemouth, with police launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.

Emergency services were called to Newlands Road in Grangemouth at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Monday, August 17, following reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. Despite the response of emergency services, the man sadly died as a result of the incident.

Police have not yet publicly identified the deceased as enquiries continue to establish his identity and determine exactly what happened.

The driver of the car involved, a 35-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment following the collision. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Residents or businesses in the area with private CCTV footage are also being encouraged to check their recordings.
